Interview
Recently, we were interviewed by a web magazine about Revive & Survive and our activities. It was a valuable opportunity to share our initiatives and future vision.
Activities in Disaster-Affected Areas
We conduct “Self-Reliance Workshops”, where we meet with local residents, listen to their firsthand experiences from the time of the disaster, and learn about the importance of disaster preparedness. The insights gained through these activities are then brought back to Tokyo, where we share them in various ways to help raise awareness of disaster preparedness.
Additionally, we host an initiative called “Youth Talks”, which fosters connections with young people interested in disaster recovery support. Through this effort, we aim to build a community that can collaborate and support one another in the future.
Recovery Support as a Sustainable Business
When people think of recovery support, they often associate it with volunteer activities or nonprofit organizations. However, we are committed to building a sustainable business model that enables long-term recovery support.
At first, our efforts were sometimes mistaken for those of an NPO or charity organization. However, we emphasize generating revenue while collaborating with local producers and business owners to support regional economic independence.
One of our key initiatives involves utilizing an e-commerce platform to sell specialty products from disaster-affected areas. Through this approach, we aim to revitalize the local economy and create a sustainable ecosystem for long-term recovery.
Future Vision
We are committed to long-term recovery support, not just temporary volunteer activities. To achieve this, we aim to expand our business by collaborating with individuals and organizations that share the same passion and dedication.
Currently, our e-commerce platform offers specialty products from Minamisanriku in Miyagi Prefecture, and we have also begun featuring products from Kochi and Gunma Prefectures. Our goal is to expand to all 47 prefectures, creating a robust support system for local economic independence across Japan.
We invite you to continue following Revive & Survive as we work toward this vision.
